Welcome to FIRMANORSK!

If your employer has a subscription for FIRMANORSK, you can start using FIRMANORSK to learn Norwegian right away! Here´s how:

Register with FIRMANORSK

Before you log in for the first time, you need to register using a special link provided by your employer. The special link should only be used when you register for the first time.

(Ask your employer for the sign-up link if they have not given it to you yet.)

If you have your own company email address, we recommend using that email address when registering. If you don´t have a company email address, you can use your private email address to register.

Explore the Contents of FIRMANORSK

FIRMANORSK consists of the following four parts:

Online Courses:

Participants get access to several different online Norwegian courses on level A1 and A2. The courses contain hundreds of online exercises and activities.

Participants can study Norwegian when they have time.

LANGUAGE: Norwegian/English

Vocabulary App:

Participants can download a vocabulary app to their smartphones. They can use this app to learn more Norwegian words and expressions wherever they are, for example when they are sitting on the bus on their way to work.

LANGUAGE: Norwegian/English

Speaking Practice:

The course includes PDF files with oral exercises.

The participants can use these exercices to practice speaking Norwegian with colleagues, friends or family members.

LANGUAGE: Norwegian

OPTIONAL: Workbooks:

If the employer has chosen to buy the workbooks, each participant may receive a workbook on level A1 and/or a workbook on level A2. The two workbooks together contain 112 pages. The workbooks include an answer key so that you can check if you have answered the exercises correctly.

Important: Choose the Right Online Course to Start Out With

FIRMANORSK contains several different online Norwegian courses at level A1 and A2, and it is essential to start out with the course that´s right for you. Here´s our advice about which courses to choose:

Choose the Right Level: A1 or A2

FIRMANORSK includes Norwegian courses on the following two levels:

A1 (beginner)
A2 (lower intermediate level)

If you don´t know any Norwegian at all, or only know a little bit of Norwegian, you should start off with a course on level A1.

If you know quite a bit of Norwegian already, you can start off with a course on level A2.

Below, you can find a brief description of the courses that are included in FIRMANORSK:

Online Courses: "Norwegian for English Speakers (A1/A2)"

These are our most comprehensive courses on level A1 and A2, and it is therefore the courses that we recommend most participants to start with.

These courses are bilingual: Norwegian and English.

Online Courses: "Repeter, lær mer! (A1/A2)"

These are courses that you can use to review what you have learned on level A1 or A2. If you have learned Norwegian quite well on either level A1 or A2, you can use these courses to review and reinforce what you have already learned.

These courses are only in Norwegian.

Online Courses: "Temaer på nviå A1" / "Temaer på nivå A2"

These courses contain a number of brief lessons about various topics on level A1 or A2.

If you have completed one of the A1 courses above, you may want to study through this course to learn more Norwegian on level A1.
If you have completed one of the A2 courses above, you may want to study through this course to learn more Norwegian on level A2.

These courses are only in Norwegian.

Please note: Whereas for the courses above, the course materiel is included inside the course system, the "Temaer (A1/A2)" courses require you to click on links to access the course material for each lesson outside of the course system.

Not sure which course is most suitable for you? No worries - since all of the courses above are included in FIRMANORSK, you can just start out with one of the courses, and then freely switch to any of the other courses if you don´t find the first course to be suitable for you.

Both the Online Norwegian Course, the Vocabulary App and the Discussion Questions for Speaking Practice are available through the online portal - click here to log in.
The printed workbooks are an optional extra. If your employer has purchased the workbooks, you may ask your employer for a copy of the printed workbooks on level A1 and/or level A2.
